Hyundai Creta has been a great success in the Indian market. Creta sold as ix25 in the Chinese market will get an update globally by 2020. Fresh spy shots for the same from Chinese Assembly Plant give much more details about its exterior and interior.
The design language of the new Hyundai ix25 (Creta) will be based on Hyundai Palisade SUV. It is also quite similar to one seen on Venue already. On the exterior, panoramic sunroof, bumper-mounted headlamps, LED taillamps, sharkfin antenna is seen.
On the interior, a centre console with a huge 10-inch touchscreen as seen on MG Hector grabs the most attention. It will get Bluelink functions like it's younger sibling Venue. MID seems to be all digital and controls for the same are mounted on the steering wheel along with Phone/Audio and Cruise control.
A continuous Piano Black centre panel that starts from a 10-inch touchscreen system and continues till armrest gives a premium feel. The gear knob is quite similar to ones seen on premium cars like Audi. It is also likely to get drive modes like it's cousin Kia Seltos.
2020 Creta will share mechanicals with Kia Seltos including platform and drive train options. Seltos is powered by 1.5l Naturally aspirated petrol and 1.5l diesel motor producing 115PS of power, and also 1.4l turbo petrol producing 140PS of peak power. A 6-speed manual will be on offer with all engine options. For auto, 1.4 petrol will get 7 speed DSG, 1.5 petrol will get IVT, 1.5 diesel will get a 6-speed auto. All the engines will be BSVI compliant.
Testing for Creta 2020 has started already. It is likely to make its debut in India at the Auto Expo 2020. It is likely to launch in March. It will be competing with Kia Seltos, Renault Captur, Renault Duster, Nissan Kicks, Tata Harrier and MG Hector.
