Renault has now come into the market with a budget 7-seater named Triber. The Renault Triber is priced between ₹4.95lakhs for the RxE variant going up to ₹6.49lakhs for the RxZ variant. All prices mentioned are ex-showroom Delhi. It has no direct competition except for Datsun GO+ and is placed below Maruti Suzuki Ertiga.
Renault Triber is the second vehicle after Kwid which has been designed specifically for the Indian market from Renault. Triber is a sub-4-meter MPV powered by a 1.0-liter petrol motor, producing 72PS of power and 96NM of torque mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
Triber comes with features like a flexible seating arrangement. It would bridge the gap between Kwid and Duster/Captur in the company's lineup.
Triber gives flexibility in seating layouts provided which, can easily be converted from luggage carrier to a family vehicle. The last row of seats can be removed individually to transform it from 7 seaters to a 6 seater or 5 seaters.
It features a digital MID, Engine Stop-Start Button, adding to a premium feel.
Other onboard features include an 8-inch touchscreen system featuring GPS Navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and various other entertainment apps. This also allows us to play videos via USB.
Triber will be 3990mm long, 1739mm wide, and 1643mm tall. The wheelbase for Triber will be 2636mm and will weigh 947kgs. Boot capacity ranges from 84L to a massive 625L depending on seat layout (5/6/7 seat). Fuel tank capacity will be 40 liters providing a range of approximately about 600 to 750kms in real-world conditions.
